7 Scary AF Horror Films Of 2018 – How Many Will You Dare To Watch?

Horror, creepy and the unusual ruled 2017 in Hollywood. The previous year was promising in terms of horror films – right from the demonic doll to the shape-changing clown, various spine-chilling characters left the audience stunned.


Various horror films did well at the box office including ‘It’, which became the top-earning horror film of all time. This year too we are expecting the return of the horror genre at large. Right from the start of 2018, we have seen some extremely eerie trailers of upcoming horror films. To give you a glimpse of them, here’s a list of some of the horror films that I’m eagerly waiting for.

The Nun

If you got the chills watching “The Conjuring” movies, this one will definitely creep you out. The fifth movie in this horror franchise, “The Nun”, is a spin off from “The Conjuring 2”. It is all set to release on July 13. So, if you are ready to let “The Nun” haunt your nightmares, go watch!

Hereditary

This movie unravels a sinister family tragedy and takes you into a world beyond horror. Writer-Director Ari Aster is set to unleash this deadly film upon audiences in June. The perfect blend of suspense and horror in this film is sure to give you goosebumps.

Winchester

Starring Helen Mirren, Jason Clarke and Sarah Snook, “Winchester” is not for the fainthearted. Though the movie was not able to impress critics with its US release in February beginning, it has created quite the buzz on social media!

A Quiet Place

The trailers of John Krasinski’s upcoming horror movie, “A Quiet Place” have already gone viral. In the movie, Krasinski stars opposite his real-life partner Emily Blunt. They try to protect their kids while navigating a post-apocalyptic Earth haunted with scary monsters. This chilling horror flick is due for release in April and if you love nail-biting movies, you must not miss it.

Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare

Directed by Jeff Wadlow, the movie stars Lucy Hale, Tyler Posey and Violett Beane, and is set to release in April. Quite a way to ruin a childhood game, but isn’t this what scary films are about anyway?

Slender Man

“Slender Man” is a popular, fictional, supernatural character, born out of the internet. Depicted as a thin, tall man with a blank head and face, this character wears a black suit and is quite scary looking. The “Slender Man” has influenced some lethal crimes in different parts of the world. Now, how gory would a movie based on this character be?

Unsane

“Unsane” is a much-awaited psychological horror-thriller film due for release in March this year. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Steven Soderbergh, the movie features Joshua Leonard, Claire Foy, Jay Pharoah, Juno Temple, Aimee Mullins and Amy Irving. Claire Foy plays the protagonist –Sawyer Valentini, who is stalked by someone from her past. She eventually ends up in a mental asylum. Interestingly, Sawyer cannot tell if the threat is real or imaginary.
