I love the ocean. Or for that matter any water body. But the sea in particular is one of my favourites. I don’t know the exact time or year that I discovered this bit about me, but as a child, my father would take me to the beach every weekend.
Then, back in 2012, I went for my first Goa trip and the sea called and tugged at my heart. There was no looking back. I could stand for hours on end and just watch the sky change color. I could immerse my toes into the water and experience a warm welcome, almost like my mother’s touch.
I craved the presence of the ocean more often than not. I craved the way it stilled me and simply absorbed my woes in its catapulting body. I often ditched the world to sit by the sea and listen to its rumblings; the way it roiled and curved only to settle and breathe.
If you’re one of those who love to chill by the water, here are 15 things you’d relate to even in your sleep.
It is your go-to place when you’re having a bad day
Or when you want to think things through
The sound of the waves is therapeutic, to say the least
You feel calmer within minutes, or even seconds
There is something absolutely trippy about a sunset and sea combo
And you can’t just get ENOUGH of it
It’s one of your favourite ways to connect to yourself
Or to spend some quality time with your favourite folks
Tough conversations seem to occur more fluidly
And you can forget the world, for a while or more
It has become one of your best friends (the most natural love ever)
And seems to read your thoughts when you’re tired to say them aloud
Sea breeze and windy hair make up your own movie moment
Scrunching your toes in the sand and walking barefoot is a MUST
Letting the waves wash over your feet = priceless
